dedicated to new ways of seeing, being and becoming
Hi, I'm Kylian Weijers: Amsterdam-based filmmaker, editor and researcher. Posthuman Docs is my studio of documentary practice and research — my field station. It's where I explore how film can function not only as a reflection of the world, but as a tool that reshapes how we relate: to ourselves, to others, and to the more-than-human.
I work from a posthumanist and feminist perspective. That means I question who gets to speak, who gets seen, and how narratives might unfold beyond the grip of the dominant gaze.
I work with posthuman and feminist thought to reconfigure what stories are, how they come into being, and who they serve. Posthumanism asks us to move beyond the idea of the human as the central subject — and instead to see life as entangled, shifting, and collective.
In practice, this means working from the inside-out. Always questioning: Who speaks? Who listens? What worlds are made in the process?
I hold a Master's degree in Documentary & Fiction from the University of Amsterdam, where I wrote on documentary ethics, posthumanism, and identity (co)construction within the filmmaker-participant relationship.
Through film, installation, and digital forms, I create work that blurs the lines between documentary and ritual, research and imagination.
Posthuman Docs is a process of becoming, always unfolding and transforming. If these ideas resonate with you or you would like to collaborate, I'd love to hear from you.
